2021 look ahead

Hello and welcome back to my blog! It’s 2021 and this year is a fresh start with the blog revamp. I am really excited to get back into blogging after the one month hiatus I ended up taking and while I don’t have anything specific planned, I do have a lot that I want to do!

So, let’s take a look at all the goals I have for 2021 and I’ll soon have a post up for all the reading challenges I plan to try out this year as well!

I have quite a few goals for 2021 as I think I pretty much wasted 2020 and don’t want the same thing to happen this year. I am not really looking to complete all of them, but more to start focusing on them and recognising them as things I want with my life and work on them as much as I can without exhausting myself.

1. Read 75 books

I usually set my reading goal to around 50 books but I wanted to challenge myself a bit this year. Ever since I discovered audiobooks, I have been able to read more and I want to see if I can get to 75 books although it seems a bit difficult to me. I did read 65 books this year though, so it is doable.

2. Explore more genres

This is something I always want to do but rarely end up doing. I did diversify my shelves by buying books from other genres but I haven’t been reading them and that is something I want to change in 2021. Maybe I can try to read one book a month which is not fantasy or romance to start with and maybe increase the count later on.

3. Finish my WIP

I have 2 ongoing WIPs that I want to work on, but, I want to focus on the second one and try to finish the first draft of it y the end of the year. I’m also open to switching between the two of them and getting around halfway in both since I end up needing a break from my WIPs and switching may allow me to write more.

4. Get 1000 followers on my blog

I had a very bad blogging year in 2020, with me being n a hiatus till April and then going on one again in November, mixed up with me missing a lot of posts that I intended to do in the middle. I know that blogging is a hobby but I want to take it more seriously and make more time for it since it is important to me and I would like to prioritise it.

5. Blog Hop more

With me being really busy almost throughout the year, I was very casual with blog hopping but I want to change that since I love reading other blogs and interacting with other fellow bloggers and making new blogger friends. I also want to discover more blogs and interact more with the community.

6. Get 1000 follows on my bookstagram.

I started my bookstagram around October 2020 but have been very inconsistent with it until recently. I want to continue working on it, maybe make some reels and interact with more bookstagrammers.

7. Do well at university.

I just joined university in August and it’s going to be my second semester now. I did very well in my first semester and I want to continue that streak by focusing on my assignments and tests and working hard.

I am really excited to get started on my goals and work on making things good in 2021. What are your goals for 2021?

  1. Good luck with your goals Jayati!! I am so happy to hear you did well in your first semester. That one was the hardest for me, the adjustment from high school to university was a weird time. I also want to read more genres than what I normally read this year. Hopefully I’ll manage to do this. Have a great week ❀

  2. Love these goals and congrats on doing well in your first semester! I’m so proud of you! I too need to work on blog hopping (because wow I haven’t in a HOTTTT minute lololol) and reading more genres.

I hope 2021 is the best year for you! ❀
