Monthly Wrap-Up

September Wrap Up

Hey everyone! This was the month I became an adult and well, it feels weird to call myself that. I still feel like a 10 year old who has no idea what is going on and is hoping that everything will just turn out alright!

Life’s been really crazy this month as I also started college and wow, it is hard. I didn’t know college would be this much work but well, I guess I’ll just have to deal with it.

BOOKS READ: 5

How to be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters

This books was so cute and also so important with how Remy tries to figure out who he is and what his place is in the world and tries to merge all his identities and also not use his identities as the only things that define him. This book will always hold a special place in my heart because it helped me feel more comfortable with who I am.

Iron Heart by Nina Varela

This is book I was looking forward to a lot after having read Crier’s War last month and it definitely did not disappoint! It was an amazing read with a conclusion that I loved, although I wish I could’ve gotten more of Crier and Ayla and their relationship! You can see my review for it here.

Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim

A Mulan Retelling? Sign me up! I also found the tailoring an interesting concept and the journey to find the special materials for the dresses and the romance and everything in this book to be quite alluring and I’m looking forward to reading Unravel The Dusk sometime soon!

Love from A to Z by SK Ali

This book – oh god, I still don’t know how to curate my thoughts on it. It was definitely fantastic – the plot was great and the characters were amazing as well! I loved their development through the book and how they face their problems together and come out better on the other side. I loved the romance as well, especially with how slow and well formed it was. I am not the kind of person that gets sold on love at first sight and while there were some elements of that, the romance builds up after that as the MCs interact and get to know each other and I couldn’t help but root for them!

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz

This book was also another fantastic one! I loved the slow progression of Ari and Dante’s relationship and how they figure out what they mean to one another and a lot of this book made me really sad but also made me feel grateful for the times I was born in.

Small Town Hearts by Lillie Vale

This was one of the cutest ever coming of age books, which deals with trying to figure out your relationships with high school friends as you go to college and finding love in a boy who isn’t staying for long. Babe was an amazing character and one I could relate to a lot and it was a pleasure to read her story!

WHAT I DID IN SEPTEMBER:

September is the month I started college, which was a lot of fun but also really exhausting! It’s been really hard to make friends since we’re online and that doesn’t really give you a chance to interact with people and that’s made college harder according to me but I’m just hoping o get through this semester so I can quickly move on to the next one and actually be on campus and meet people!

September was also the month I turned 18!! Can you believe it? I had a small part at home with some of my close friends and family to celebrate and a Zoom call with some of my other friends who are in different cities/countries for college or just couldn’t come because their parents didn’t allow them. Here are a few pictures of my party!

For reference, that is my garden and also one of y favourite places ever as I love to sit in the swing and listen to songs and just relax and it’s been too hot at the moment but I look forward to spending time there from mid October once it gets cooler! I will also have a birthday book haul post coming up soon to show you all the books I was gifted/ bought form the money I was given as birthday gifts. Unfortunately most people got me other things (such as clothes, like why??) but I did manage to get a few books!

PLANS FOR OCTOBER

Thankfully I have a midterm break in October and I’m really looking forward to it! I really don’t have many plans for October but I’m just hoping it will be a good month and that I start exercising or at least finish my 6000 steps a day goal because September really took the wind out of me and I usually had no energy for anything!
