What to read during Quarantine?

Hey everyone! I am so sorry for not being around the past week – for no posting or blog hopping or replying to your comments.

My mental health hasn’t been very good these past few days due to some stuff that’s been happening around me and the general anxiety I have been facing due to covid19 and college admissions and well, I won’t go on about ti because hat isn’t why you’re here, is it?

So, I haven’t been reading much lately but some books always cheer me up so I want to share them with you all in case you’re having through reading like me!

Romances are the easiest books to get into when you start reading them and they’re just so fluffy that they make me feel warm and happy, so the first five books I’m recommending to you all are some cute romances:

I love love love all these books and I can not scream about the all enough. Many people haven’t read these and I just want to push them all on you and make you read them and fangirl with me, because they are amazing and need more recognition so please just go read them for me, okay?

Why are you still here? GO READ THEM.

Need something more to make you read them? Alright, so here are my reviews:

Call Her Mine by Melissa Foster

His Billionaire Bride by Madeline Ash

A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi

(Unfortunately, I don’t have reviews for all of them, but at least you can check these three out and if you like them, you may like the others as well?)

You thought I was done by just recommending you 5 romances? Nope. I have some more for you and these are queer, so more love for my queer little heart!

All these books are great as well and ahh, they just kill my little queer heart every time I read them and I need you to read them as well s we can talk about them and discuss them, okay?

Again, here are my reviews:

Tell Me How You Really Feel by Animah Mae Safi

Simon VS The Homo sapiens Agenda by Becki Albertalli

Brush Strokes bu E S Karlquist

The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon

(again, I’m missing a review, because when am I not?)

No post of mine would be complete without me pushing some great fantasy books on you and so, here I am – pushing some great fantasy books on you which I sincerely hope you’ll read, then slide into my DMs and fangirl with me because I love them and I want you to love them and I want to hear why you loved them and what you loved about them, okay?

All these books are amazing and I’m sure you have heard me gushing about them at a point or another if you’ve been here for some time, so I just want to share my love for them all with you and hope that you will read them and love them!

My reviews:

The Beautiful by Renée Ahdieh

A Spark of White Fire by Sanguines Mandanna

Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Cinder by Marissa Meyers

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

(and for the first time in my life, I have a review for them all!)

So those are the 15 books I recommend you all to read in such times to distract yourself and make yourself happy.

Are there any books you’d like to recommend to me? Please do so in the comments because I’m clueless about what to read right now despite having about 50 unread books on my bookshelf (oops).

Anyway, I’d love to hear your recommendations, so please leave them in the comments below!

  1. Ah I’m currently reading Cinder at the moment, my go to books for comfort are usually Urban Fantasy I just need supernatural creatures, slow burn romance and a good ol’ dose of sarcasm and I’m content. I do adore fluffy contemporaries though and A Very Large Expanse of Sea is on my shelves so I will try and get to reading it this year! I also need to read Priory and like so many others honestly. I also need to read Beautiful and I did finally finish reading The Illuminae Files this year and they are so good aaaah *swoons* I adore that trilogy.

    1. ahh, I completely agree!
Omg, yes, the Illuminae files are just so great and I’m glad you enjoyed them as well!
I really can’t wait for you to read Priory, A Very Large Expanse of the Sea and The beautiful so we can discuss those!

  2. Nice post! Is The Bride Test better than The Kiss Quotient? I also love that your comment submission looks that a postcard. It’s so creative and unique! I hope you feel back to normal soon!

    1. I think so, I enjoyed the Bride Test a bit more than the Kiss Quotient but they were both really great books!
Aw, I’m glad you liked it! And thanks, I hope you’re doing good too and take care!

  3. Don’t apologize for taking time for yourself! Quarantine might seem like the best time to go all out on blog hopping and reading but it can also be detrimental to one’s mental health and it’s important to acknowledge that.
As for recommendations … To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo is fantastic and well worth reading! I would also recommend The Truth About Keeping Secrets by Savannah Brown and The Perfect Escape by Suzanne Park! Feel free to check out my reviews of them on my blog to see if they’ll interest you!

  4. Awwww Jayati *plows you with a (well sanitised) hug* I’m sorry you’ve been going through a rough time. I can only imagine what you must be feeling. I hope you start to feel better soon *sends love and warmth your way*

ROMANCES ARE THE BEST. They’re just such amazing little vortexes into happiness and warmth and they’ll wrap you comfortably, give you a cup of hot chocolate and listen to your problems. I love your suggestions! I’ve not heard of a few of them so I checked them out! I loooooved The Bride Test! AHHH.

AHHH RED WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE I tell you about seven billion people have asked me to read it. DAMMIT TBR STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT.

The Beautiful and ASoWF I LOVED and I agree wholeheartedly. I read Cinder a loooong while ago and I do remember loving it. I need to pick this series back up again.

    Take care Jayati ♥️😍🥰♥️

  5. Sadly, fantasies are too much for my little brain xD it needs some more time before really jumping the hype on that one.

Emergency contact is literally sitting on my shelf and !!! I so need to get to it.
Red, White & Royal Blue was already on my virtual wanna read, and I just added Brush strokes aswell as Call her mine; Thank you !

  6. So agree that reading romance novels is perfect during this time. You just want something light and fluffy to take your mind off things and imagine more beautiful and wondrous possibilities and if that’s not love, then what is it, right?

I’m still yet to read The Kiss Quotient, I’ve bought the copy though, so once I’m done, I’ll probably be on to The Bride Test!

Poetry is great too to destress. I’ve loved The Rose That Blooms in the Night!
