Recommending books by Indian Authors (Celebrating the Indian Independence day!)

Heye, everyone! Today is the 15th of August i.e. the day that 73 years ago that India finally attained independence from the rule of the British rule!

So, in celebration of India, today I am going to recommend some books written by Indian Authors!

A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Mandanna

You may have seen these book and its sequel, A House of Rage and Sorrow on my blog quite a lot these past few days since I have been obsessed with it so much! So, I hope this can convince you to read the books.

If not, you can also take another look at my reviews for them:

A Spark of White Fire

A House of Rage and Sorrow

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

This is such a cute, desi romance and I have the other books by Sandhya on my TBR and honestly, I am just waiting for a day off so I can devour them in just one sitting since they are so cute and I just love to read them!

Marry Me, Stranger by Novoneel Chakraborty

Now, I had read this trilogy quite a while back, around the time it was released and I do not remember much of it now but I do remember that the suspense and anticipation almost killed me and that I really enjoyed it!

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi

I have heard so much about this book from literally everyone that has read it and I even own it and I just hope I get to pick it up soon and finally discover what it is actually about and fall completely in love with it!

My So-called Bollywood Life by Nisha Sharma

Sahi has been talking so much about this book and I really really really want to read this!

Palace of Illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

This book is another one that I have heard Sahi talk a lot about and since I liked ASoFW, I really wish to try this one out as well! My cousin also loves this book and so, my excitement for this book is at a peak!

And that’s a wrap for today, Have you read any of these books? Or are they on your TBR? Are there any other books by Indian authors that you really loved and enjoyed? Tell me in the comments below!

  1. These all look like fantastic books! I loved A Spark of White Fire but I’m still waiting to get my hands on A House of Rage and Sorrow. Gilded Wolves was also a favorite of mine but personally, I’m a sucker for anything written by Roshani Chokshi. Have you read her Star-Touched Queen series?

I haven’t read anything by roshani chokshi yet 🙈🙈 but I want to – and soon, I’m just hoping to het all my current arcs done with t so I can peacefully read it!

  2. I can’t wait to read A Palace of Illusions, when Dimple met Rishi, and MSCBL. But I’ve never heard of Marry Me, Stranger. I read the blurb on goodreads and it looks like it’ll be a really fun and thrilling read!
