Favourite Quotes: Stephanie Meyer

Hey, everyone! I am back with favourite quotes post today,  I can’t wait to share with you all some brilliant quotes by Stephanie Meyer whom, let us face it, I do not like at all but has some fabulous quotes so let me share them with you all on this fine day 🙂

“When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it’s not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end.”

“Books have been thought of as windows to another world of imagination”

“It’s not the face, but the expressions on it. It’s not the voice, but what you say. It’s not how you look in that body, but the thing you do with it. You are beautiful.”

“We made our worlds better places; that was absolutely essential or we did not deserve them.”

“You are the only one who has ever touched my heart, it will always be yours.”

“It feels like I’ve been waiting a century to do that. It’s like time has lost all continuity. Every second with you outweighs days of life before I met you.”

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.”

“I’d rather die than stay away from you.”

“Death is Peaceful, Life is Harder”

“The waves of pain that had only lapped at me before now reared high up and washed over my head, pulling me under. I did not resurface.”

“How sad. How frightening. To be filled with so much hate that you could not even rejoice in the healing of a child…How did anyone ever come to that point?”

Anyways, what did you all think of my post? Have you read any of Stephanie’s books? Do you plan to in the future? Tell me in the comments below. Will be waiting to hear from you all, it means a lot to me.

Assassin’s Blade

“My name is Celaena Sardothien,” she whispered, “and I will not be afraid.”

Hey all! I’m rereading the Throne of Glass series in anticipation for the release of the Kingdom of the Ash.

Celaena Sardothien is Adarlan’s most feared assassin. As part of the Assassin’s Guild, her allegiance is to her master, Arobynn Hamel, yet Celaena listens to no one and trusts only her fellow killer-for-hire, Sam. In these action-packed novellas – together in one edition for the first time – Celaena embarks on five daring missions. They take her from remote islands to hostile deserts, where she fights to liberate slaves and seeks to avenge the tyrannous. But she is acting against Arobynn’s orders and could suffer an unimaginable punishment for such treachery. Will Celaena ever be truly free? Explore the dark underworld of this kick-ass heroine to find out.

I just can’t… I can’t function right now.

I’m happy as well as sad.

Sam Cortland. Like, Sarah, how could you? You get us to fall in love with one more of your brilliantly written characters just to take him away! He’s bold and smart and lovely. The way he treats Celaena is just wonderful and I can’t believe it. You break my heart.

“I love you,” he repeated, shaking her again. “I have for years. But if I asked you to pick, you’d choose Arobynn, and I. Can’t. Take. It.”

He’s brilliant and he just makes you fall for him – again and again – harder every damn time.

And Celaena’s response to the particular quote above made my heart melt:

“You’re a damned idiot,” she breathed grabbing the front of his tunic. “You’re a moron and an ass and a damned idiot.” He looked like she had hit him. But she went on, and grasped both sides of his face. “Because I’d pick you.”

Then, again we see Celaena save the slaves from Rolfe and that was lovely and kickass and well, how do I explain it?

Then she also helps Yrene at Innish and now that I have read further and I see the importance of Yrene further in the books, that scene seemed so much more profound to me and it reached out to me and it was crazy. I loved this side of Celaena. She was ruthless but caring as well.

The thing with Ansel as well, how Celaena faced the betrayal and how she saved the Mute Master, it showed me that sometimes showing a bit of mercy will help make the world a better place.

Her relationship with Sam also seemed to have a lot of depth to it and it showed a fierce kind of love. I couldn’t help but cry when we lot Sam and the way Celaena got angry and then went out to get revenge made my heart clench a little bit more.

“Life isn’t easy, no matter where you are. You’ll make choices you think are right, and then suffer for them.”

This quote is also so true, not only in respect to the books but also in real life.

I hated the ending though, with how she was captured, but well, that was necessary so I will just accept it and move on.

Anyways, what did you all think of my post? Have you all read this book> What did you people think about it? Tell me in the comments below. Will be waiting to hear from you all, it means a lot to me.

How to choose what to read next?

Hey all! We are readers and all readers face a lot of trouble in choosing what to read next. We all have an infinite TBR but only limited time to read as we all have a very busy life.

Many books rest on our bookshelves for years before being read! So, here’s a few ways to ensure that all books are given a fair chance of being read!

#1: Make a TBR Jar

A TBR Jar is so darn cute! And well, each book gets a fair chance of being chosen but then if it doesn’t fit your mood, it could be a real disaster as you will try to delay reading that particular book for as long as you could and then it might lead right to a reading slump but on the other hand you could end up picking a book that you might not have at any other given moment and end up loving it, so it is a mystery box!

#2: Display all your books and close your eyes, pick one up.

Well, this is a good option since again, there is EQUALITY but well, you will again face the same problems you did with the TBR Jar.

#3: Have a Poll!

This is a pretty interesting idea, see if you get people who love books, have heard about the books that they are polling on or even read them, then the book you will get as the result will probably be really good and you will end up loving it, so this is a good way. Plus, you can make different polls for different genres and then depending on your mood you can choose which book to read!

#4: The Taster Method – Read the first chapter of a few books and decide.

So, this method will help you clear out what type of writing will be there and see what piques your interest. Though in some books, the staring is very slow and uninteresting but after a while, it turns out to be great later and then if you choose this way you wouldn’t end up picking that book so, yeah…

#5: The Friend Method

Ask your friend/ relative to pick a book from the books you already have 🙂

And, that’s it, just a few ways to choose what to read next for you guys today! What do you all think? Do you agree with my ways to choose what to read next? Which way did you like the best? What would you all suggest me to when choosing what to read next? Tell me in the comments below.

October Goals + Update on September Goals

Hey everyone! How have you all been? it is October and hence, let us review how the month of September was before moving on to a new beginning.

  1. Read 5 books. (I have my exams so I will read less so my goal needs to be less too) The exact number. Gosh, though, I barely completed this goal.
  2. Write 20,000 words. Again, I couldn’t. Damn those exams.
  3. Make sure my blog stats don’t go very low. Again. They kind of did in the last week, but then, I wasn’t posting.
  4. Post alternative days, minimum. Well, this will be easy since I have a lot of posts scheduled already this month. I stuck to it for most of the month but then how could I continue to post/ write when I was away, touring another country?

Now that September is sorted, let us move on to October and my great plans for this month, which is ironic considering I already have a list of events planned for this month.

  1. Read 8 books.
  2. Complete my homework, and regularly this time. No time for lagging behind.
  3. Write 25,000 words. Hopefully.
  4. Once again, Make sure my blog stats don’t go very low.
  5. Post alternative days, minimum.
  6. Maybe even write a poem? But, let us see how it all goes down.

Those are my goals for this month. What are yours? Tell me in the comments below.

Peace out cuties.

A library book

I don’t really borrow from the library as they have a horrible collection, so none.

A book I got as a gift

I just got this for my birthday and I am so excited to read it!

A childhood book

I read this series all through Middle School.

A magical book

Nothing can ever be as magical as Harry Potter!

A romantic book

CATH and WREN from FANGIRL. They have the best sibling relationship I have ever read. They fight, but they always make up. I love them.

Cath and Levi are my OTP.

A Steamy Book

An old book

It’s also one of the multiple books I’m reading right now.

A book that makes me happy/laugh

Percy Jackson is the funniest protagonist I have ever read and his inputs make the books infinitely more interesting!

A book that made me emotional

Okay, so this is pretty stupid but somehow this book just makes me a little emotional and it is relatable in a very weird way and it makes me laugh and cry and go crazy!

A book with an ending I dislike

Well, who ever did?

A book I wish had illustrations

A book or genre I love to read when it’s raining

Rom-coms are great as they make you laugh and relax.

Throne of Glass

“You could rattle the stars,” she whispered. “You could do anything, if only you dared. And deep down, you know it, too. That’s what scares you most.”

Could I give any less to any Sarh J Maas book?

After serving out a year of hard labour in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.

Her opponents are men-thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the king’s council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for four years and then be granted her freedom. Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her … but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.

Then one of the other contestants turns up dead … quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined

Again, this book has left me breathless.

First things first, I love Chaol Westfall and how protective he is of Dorian. Their friendship is just the best!

I like how he doesn’t trust Celaena in the start but then grows attached to her and cares for her. And, okay, with both Dorian and Chaol pining after Celaena it gets kinda weird like when Chaol catches Dorian coming into Celaena’s rooms after some ball and then tells him to leave cause it is dangerous but it is more than that, you get me, yeah? But it is also cute!

And then we have Dorian Havilliard, our beloved Crown Prince of Adarlan and let me say that I have never read a character as loyal, dedicated, caring and loving as him. I mean, he is Crown Prince so he could be pampered or something but well, he loved people and he sees his father for who he really is and while he is a little selfish and he uses his looks and reputation for stuff like getting together with all the girls, he does have a very good and noble heart within.

Also, I loved the competition for the King’s Champion and while it was a little frivolous, I loved how it seemed to complicate everything yet make it so simple. The thing with Cain was awesome! And, I also love how Celaena and Nox became friends and that she helped him out and told him everything and let him just leave.

And, the duels at the last when Celaena was fighting against Gavin and she said:

“My name is Celaena Sardothien. But it makes no difference if my name’s Celaena or Lillian or Bitch, because I’d still beat you, no matter what you call me.”

I loved that and how it threw him off.

Also, before I forget my possibly favourite moment – When Chaol kills Cain to protect Celaena! Those feels, ahh! I felt as if I was dead myself.

Also before I forget to mention, I love how Celaena writes to Dorian about wanting books to read and how Dorian writes back and how Chaol reacts to all of it.

“No. I can survive well enough on my own— if given the proper reading material.”

Fleetfoot. Oh, I love that dog, he seems so fluffy and nice and cuddly and I want more of him! I love that Dorian gifted it to Celaena for the Yulemas.

And, the Yulema’s ball! Celaena crashed it and danced with Dorian and it was so fun and cool and the way Chaol was watching them and the end at the balcony – it was crazy and wonderful. Oh, and on Yulema’s morning when Dorian gave her Three pounds of candies and she ate about half of it even before breakfast.

Sorry, I’m just ranting here but all in all, this book is lovely and I’m hyped for the release of Kingdom of Ash and well, you should all really read this book if you haven’t already!

Anyways, what did you all think of my post? Have you all read this book> What did you people think about it? Tell me in the comments below. Will be waiting to hear from you all, it means a lot to me.

Peace out cuties ♥
