I think this one is long overdue…
MY RATING: 5 TWINKLING STARS
Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the bestselling Lunar Chronicles. She’s trying to break out of prison—even though if she succeeds, she’ll be the Commonwealth’s most wanted fugitive.
Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit’s grandmother is missing. When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother’s whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.
Ah, how can I ever tell you how much I love this book? Rereading it only helped refresh my memory as to why I love these characters so much.
Well, in this book we are introduced to Scarlet Benoit, the granddaughter of Michelle Benoit who is rumoured to have gotten Princess Selene back to Earth! *gasp* Scarlet has no one except her grandma. Well, her father is useless and she can not imagine why or how her grandma was kidnapped. Then, she meets a street fighter, Wolf who has a tattoo saying ‘LSOP‘, the very same one as her grandma’s kidnappers or so her father says.
Wold lies to her, tells her it means ‘Loyal Soldier of the Pack’, get her to trust him and in doing all this, he falls for her which is something he never intended to do. Fast forward he ends up betraying her despite his will but then redeems himself by saving her.
Oh god, is Wolf a loveable character. Though he may seem harsh, he has a cuddly, cute inside reserved for Scarlet. It is cute how much he cares for her and I ended up falling for him. He is a complex character and very well written.
Scarlet is confused and doesn’t know what is happening. I seem to agree with most of her thoughts and emotions and she was expressed extremely fabulously. She drew me to her and as much as I wanted to hurry up and get to the Cinder part, I ended up getting drawn to her and soon stopped that.
Cinder and Thorne were on a journey filled with a lot of dangers and reading their banters would always make me smile. The two never disappointed me.
Lastly, I hate the fact that Kai agreed to marry Levana, ugh, why’d he do that? I mean, I understand his reasons, but still! He should know better than to fall into her trap.
Anyways, what did you all think of my post? Have you all read this book> What did you people think about it? Tell me in the comments below. Will be waiting to hear from you all, it means a lot to me.
Peace out cuties ♥
